I grew up in San Luis Río Colorado, on the border between Mexico and the United States: a territory that runs constantly through my practice: in the geometric fragmentation of the faces I paint, in the tension between what is inherited and what is chosen, in color as an assertion of identity.
I have been singing since the age of five. Over fifteen years on stage (including opening for Natalia Lafourcade and Fernando Delgadillo and performing at international festivals such as Buenos Aires Celebra México in Argentina or Festival Tierra Sonora in Mexico) shaped me as a performer before the visual became my primary language.
In 2020, I began to paint. My work explores Mexican cultural identity through geometric portraiture and saturated color, and has been exhibited in New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Brussels.
I lead two projects alongside my studio practice: Afterleaf Eco, a biodesign startup that transforms cremated remains into living plants, and Phlora, a botanical portrait photography project that explores feminine presence through nature. Both extend the same questions that appear in my painting: what remains, what transforms, what deserves to be seen.
Today my studio is at Grand Arthaus in Phoenix, Arizona, where I continue to work.
